Artworks of The Great Promise - an upcoming animated short film about a princess who has arrived at the end of happily ever after.
Directed by Eusong Lee.
Joao Ruas’s fascinating in progress work is a marvel to look at, almost as if one was looking at the formation of pure reality pulled straight from a dream. Most of these pieces are in preparation for his solo show in February at Thinkspace Gallery but Joao will also have new artwork in the 3rd Annual Supersonic Invitational in January at Spoke Art:
The Kickstarter for my first personal project is now live.
Wow, this is it - the big one! From here forward, I’m transitioning out of my career in commercial work to full-time, professional pursuit of my personal projects.
While the work I’ve done professionally has been nothing short of tough and fulfilling, I think it’s time for something new. Over the years, I’ve met so many amazing people - professionals of all kinds, ‘amateurs’, and everything in between - who I want to work with. This title - and new brand - is my hope to make that possible. You’ve got an idea? A short story, a ‘zine, a treatment, an interactive world? Need an illustrator, a director, a producer? With my background in a little bit of everything, I want to work with you, make it happen and put it into the world together. Rai, you want to make your Volk narrative some kind of interactive reality? Man, let’s find a way to do it. E, I’d love to make short-form comics with you. What about short films? Treatments? 3D printing? Clothing? There’s so many of you who have known me as “jennadelle” that I hope to approach one day.
Finally, I know I’ve said it before, but thank you all so much for having me. Over the years, and every week since I put up this account, I’ve received some unbelievable, supportive letters about your experience with my person or my work. Some of you have been following this alias for close to ten years now, and have been nothing but kind. Regardless of whether or not you choose to support this new direction financially, thank you for being here. I think it’s entirely possible that I wouldn’t be where I am today, pursuing this direction if it hadn’t been for many of you.
Like it says on the Kickstarter page, I’m doing as much as I can do fund this out of my own pocket to make sure this happens, but anything you can do to help get this off the ground helps. So, in addition to the Kickstarter pledge rewards, I will be offering unlimited slots for icons for 10USD until the end of the year, and there will be an auction for bigger commissions slots coming later this week. All profits will go towards the ANONMAL: VOLUME I fund. If there’s any other way you want to support that isn’t explicitly listed on the Kickstarter page, please just give me a shout via my e-mail - commissionsbyj[at]gmail.com. This is kind of my dream, so please don’t be shy: I’m all ears.

Cooper Thompson has a very distinctive look, like the lovechild of a porcelain doll and a Greek god statue.
Found the place to rest my head.
